What Do I need To Paint on an Oil Canvas?
I have heard that I need mineral oil, and Jessup?! But have no idea what these things are, also have heard that I need to prep my canvas, but am unsure how?
Can Anybody Give Me A Headsup on how to PAINT? Haha xD

10 Points For The Easiest to understand and Informative Answer
If your canvas is raw -- that's to say unprepared, then you need gesso, a white water-based paint which you apply in several thin layers over the entire stretched canvas. When that's dry you can begin to paint with oils or acrylics.
If using acrylics, all you need is water to thin your paint and to clean your brushes.
Oil paints can be thinned with a little white spirit (as opposed to turpentine which is highly toxic and definitely not good for your liver!) which can also be used to clean your brushes.Linseed oil may also be used to thin and mix paints.
As for how to paint...pick a subject that interests you.
Work from dark to light, from thin applications of paint to thick, and try to fully fill in your canvas as you go (in other words, don't just concentrate on one area or object; build up the total picture step by step).
The background (and whatever is in it) will be "greyer" or less bright than the foreground which creates depth (on an otherwise flat surface, your canvas). Sharper images appear closer.
Create shadows and shading with complementary colors (ie, adding a bit of green to red will darken the red). You can figure out the complementary color by staring at one color for a minute or so and then looking at a white piece of paper (or wall, canvas, whatever). The complementary color will magically appear!
When you mix two complementary colors you will eventually get grey. (Burnt siena and ultramarine blue make a great grey and very rich black.) There are different kinds of shadow depending on the light source.
