How to Create Personalized Greeting Cards
Do you remember the time when you were still young and it seems like you can do just about anything when it comes to exercising your creativity and imagination to the fullest? As a child, it is very common for us to be immersed with art and imagination. In fact, our elders encourage us to be more creative and innovative. That's the reason why we are given projects after projects to help us showcase our skills and capability to excel in something that is creative and imaginative.
But as we grow older, all of these seem to fade away. We don't anymore have the luxury, time and even the patience to create something unique and distinctly our own. That's why it is very often that we see a lot of generic things in the world.
This includes the print greeting cards. Isn't it very easy to just buy one in bookstores and card shops than to create personalized greeting cards every time we need one? We've forgotten all the creativity and imagination we have just because it is easier to just buy it than do it yourself.
On the other hand, this is a big misconception on our part. Although we've grown older, it also doesn't mean that we should forget about being creative just because we don't have time for it. We do have time – if we're determined to make something.
Here's the hard fact: we do have time if we're determined to do something and put our minds to it. We can make time for anything. Although we tend to get lost a lot and give only a small enough time to our loved ones, we can make something that can help us express our own style and ideas. The key is to find the time to come up with these ideas. And surely, our special loved ones will appreciate us more for it.
So create things on your own once in a while. What we've done ourselves can show for a more meaningful and personal way to express our gratitude and feelings for that special person. Be it personalized greeting cards to celebrate a special occasion, or print greeting cards just to keep in touch; a custom and homemade greeting card can go a long way in getting you the response you want from your effort.
There are many ways you can make your own greeting cards. Here's how:
First of all, think about what you would want your greeting card to look like. Think about your size, your shape, and the elements you would want to add to your greeting card. Before you even start putting ink to paper, get your materials ready so that you don't need to be disturbed while you're in the designing process.
You can buy your basic items from any craft shop or retail stores. Begin with your paper. You can choose velvet paper and a thick stock for your greeting card. Then select your color. Choose a paper that already has color so you can save time and money when you're finally printing your final output. Your colored paper can form your background and contrast to the graphics and text you intend to include in your design.
Then try to get some cool pictures of your loved ones to show how much you love them. Add also other glittery elements to put that extra glow and creativity to your design. You can also get the other designs of used greeting cards and cut them out. You can then stick them to your homemade greeting card for your unique design. Don't forget to sketch a layout first before you start sticking your pictures and graphics. Your initial sketch can help you create a neat and organized layout for your project.
Finally, always remember to write a personal message to your recipient. What you say can make a huge difference in the way your target recipients will respond to your personalized greeting cards, more than your design or graphics.
