What is a good alternate for Diamond Glaze?

I am working on making Scrabble tile pendants and haven't been able to find Diamond Glaze locally. Do you know any products that would be a good alternative to Diamond Glaze and where to find it? Do you know where a good place to buy other supplies for creating Scrabble tile pendants from one place is?

You can look for Diamond Glaze (or Diamond Glaze 3) at craft shops and some hobby shops, and perhaps at art supply stores. That's only one brand of "dimensional white glue" though...a few others are Glossy Accents (by Ranger), 3D Crystal Lacquer (by Sakura), Royal Coat Dimensional Magic (by Plaid), Aleene's Paper Glaze (Duncan), etc.

Of course, those dimensional white glues won't be as resistant to later scratching or clouding from humidity so you'll generally need to put a coat of something tougher on top--like clear polyurethane** or clear fingernail polish (water-based "acrylic" would be best, not "enamel").

You could also just use a clear polyurethane poured on top in the same way to make it thicker, or use multiple coats or "dip" the item in the polyurethane.
Or you could use a regular permanent white glue --PVA,etc-- thinned down with water; a lot of people use those as clear finishes though they won't dome.

A lot of people who make things like that also use clear epoxy resins (or even some epoxy glues***) which would be tougher than the white glues. You can apply those over the tiles (which should be elevated on a stack of pennies, etc) and allow the excess to drip off which will create a slight dome, or you can pour the resin into a "cell" temporarily created around the tile with masking tape or modeling clay, etc., or into a permanent cell (frame, bezel, etc).

For more info on dimensional glues, see this page:
http://glassattic.com/polymer/finishes.htm > Other acrylic/water-based finishes > White Glues > Dimensional Finishes

For more info on polyurethanes, dipping, etc., see the previous page but click on Varathane then maybe > Dipping.

For more on epoxy resins (and some others), see this page:
http://glassattic.com/polymer/other_materials.htm > Epoxy > Coating

**You can also buy polyurethane in small bottles as some brands of "clear glaze" for polymer clay, etc (like Studio by Sculpey) but it's a lot cheaper from the hardware store, etc.
**Devcon's 2 Ton, 30 Min Set is one of the clearest
