does anyone think some of the big name free agents will be signed?
barry bonds, sammy sosa, kenny lofton, bartolo colon, shannon stewart, shawn green, corey patterson, tony clark, etc... given most these guys are up in age or lack the talent they were suppose to have (corey patterson) but its february and these guys could be had for cheap. sosa had 92 rbi's last year! who couldnt use that on their team? tell me what you think???
Most of them will be signed. However, teams are waiting to see if they can get them cheaper. Veterans with big past success (ala Shawn Green, Sammy Sosa, Bartolo Colon) always seek a larger contract than they deserve. Organizations are smart enough to avoid such foolish contracts, even if they are short term. Trust me, when spring training starts and teams realize, "oh no, [insert position here] is a huge hole in our lineup," they'll come calling for these guys.
