What is the portrait of a young woman about by Sandro Botticelli in 1480 about?
Its the one where she is wearing a red and black dress. Please answer have been looking for this for days
I think this is Botticelli's idea of what a perfect woman, from a visual point of view, should look like.
Every detail is as near perfectly shaped and positioned as it could be, from the very round pearls on top of her head, the way her hair has been plaited and arranged, the black and gold ribbon holding her hair in place, even the edge decoration of her dress. He has put an amazing amount of very sharp and defined detail into this painting, in my opinion more so than any other he has been known to have painted.
Everything about this painting is just perfect and that is what he was trying to tell people through his painting.
